Floyd Maywearther's Adviser Says 'Shane Mosley's Getting Stopped'

When it comes to having Floyd Mayweather's back, no one has it more than Leonard Ellerbe(pictured above, at far left, with Mayweather, Shane Mosley and Oscar de la Hoya), CEO of Mayweather promotions. For whatever Mayweather has to say with emphasis, Ellerbe often says louder, more colorfully, and, with much more of an impact.

Below are some of Ellerbe's quotes from past stories that have appeared on FanHouse, followed by a Q&A with the Mayweather adviser about Mayweather's upcoming May 1 bout with WBA welterweight (147 pounds) champion, Shane Mosley:

"I'm not accusing Manny Pacquiao of anything. However, if he doesn't have anything to hide, then what is the problem? If Pacquiao is representing that he is superstitious of needles, then how does he have tatoos all over his body?"

"It's a bunch a bull****. At no point was there any time that Floyd tried to make a deal with the fight [against Manny Pacquiao] being over 147, and you can quote me on that. That's a bunch of bull****. We never ever had a discussion about anything above 147."

"Floyd Mayweather has always known that he's the best. And the reason why he's the best is that he's never been beaten."

"At this level, for Floyd, it's not about belts. It's about fighting to, like he said, improve his legacy, and, also, it's about money. Floyd's already the best fighter in the world. Why does he need a belt to prove that?"

"For the record, Floyd Mayweathter doesn't shoot anything in his hands. That was a nasty rumor that was spread out there just because people like to do those kind of things. Floyd is a clean athlete and he's been a clean athlete from Day One. Floyd Mayweather doesn't shoot or use needles in his hands. And come May 1, Shane Mosley will see for himself what Floyd will be able to do with both of his hands"

FanHouse: So what are the first things you would like to say to the public concerning Floyd Mayweather-Shane Mosley?

Leonard Ellerbe: I'm truly excited about the fight. We have a record-breaking HBO pay per view event in front of us, and the fans will be the beneficiary of this mega event.

Do you think that Floyd Mayweather cares whether fans tune in to see him win or whether they tune in to see him lose?

Of course Floyd cares about his fans, and I'll just leave it at that.

What kind of message did it send to Floyd, a Las Vegas resident, when he came to the Washington, D.C. press conference and the fans all the way on the other side of the country swarmed him and relentlessly sought his attention?

The Washington, D.C. fans have mad love for Floyd. I know that first-hand. All of my people live there. D.C. has a love affair with Floyd Mayweather. The fans of Washington, D.C. are true, die hard boxing fans. They have mad love for Floyd, and Floyd has mad love for Washington, D.C., also

How do you think that Shane Mosley is handling the verbal and psychological attacks from Floyd?

Shane's handling it just like he's going to handle the action in the fight. And the results of the fight will be the same. Shane's been defeated. And Shane knows that. Shane knew that from the world 'Go.' From the world, 'Go,' he was mesmerized by being on the same platform as Floyd, you know?

This is the most attention that Shane has gotten in any fight. And I think that Shane is caught up in that.

What did you think of Shane Mosley's latest commentary on ESPN Radio implying that Floyd's muscular security guards as well as Floyd are on steroids?

Okay, now, you have to ask the fans one question: Why would Shane go on talk radio and do that when he can do that on camera any day and all day, 24/7, with the cameras right in front of his face?

Well what do you mean by that and what are you saying about Shane?

That's the bottom line, I mean, it speaks for itself. Why would he go on talk radio and say something like that, when he's got the cameras in front of him, 24/7? That speaks for itself, right?

Did Floyd even see the comments, and if so, what did he think of them?

We don't pay nothing that Shane Mosley says any attention because Shane Mosley don't even believe that sh** himself. Shane Mosley, deep down in his heart, he knows what he's up against, and come Saturday night, all of those questions that he might have had will be answered.

Does Floyd really believe that Shane was using steroids for a longer period than just in 2003, or is his questioning of that purely part of the head games he's trying to play?

We don't know. How can anyone answer that question? That's not no head game. We don't know. How can anyone properly answer that question?

With the United States Anti-Doping Agency handling the random blood and urine testing for this fight, do you have complete faith in their system?

All day long. All day long. And I do commend Shane for stepping up to the plate. He wants to show the world that he's a clean athlete now. Now. What he's done in the past, who knows? Who knows?

How many times has Floyd been randomly tested?

A number of times. A number of times. I have no idea how many times.

How do you feel that the 21-month ring absence before fighting Juan Manuel Marquez was helpful to Floyd's return?

I think that it did a lot for him. It gave him a chance to rest his body. It gave him a chance to spend quality time with his family and his children. Because he hadn't had a break since his career began. The rigors of promoting events, because he's the one that's out front doing these things.

I think that he needed to take a step back and that's what he did. He's rejuvenated. And this is the best that I've ever seen Floyd look.

Can you break down what hand-wrapping guru Rafael Garcia means to Floyd?

Rafael is the best at what he does, and Floyd is the best at what he does. Rafael just brings so many elements to the table. Not just only as the best cutman/hand-wrapping specialist in the business, but he brings a great wealth of experience to the table.

How important has the reconciliation been between Floyd Mayweather Sr. and Floyd Jr.?

I think it's paid great dividends. It's a great pleasure to see everybody working together in harmony. It's a great thing to see Floyd and his dad having fun, laughing and joking every day. It's a great sight to see.

So can you tell me how the fight is going to go down?

Shane Mosley's getting stopped. Shane Mosley will not see 12 rounds. This is the best Floyd Mayweather that I've ever seen.

In what ways is he the best ever?

In every way, fashion and form. This is the best that I've seen Floyd look. In every way, from top to bottom, this is the best that I've seen Floyd.
