The Origin of Mayweather vs Mosley

While I am reading the news paper and drinking a hot coffee early in the morning, I was shocked and felt a great excitement within me as the news says Manny Pacquiao will be facing off Floyd Mayweather Jr. on March 13, 2010. I am a number one fan of Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and I really love to watch his fights. Manny Pacquiao made me amazed with his outstanding agility and his lighting speed power punches.

“As I continually image what fight this would be, my heart beat is getting faster and faster. It made me much more excited because Floyd Mayweather Jr’s has also remarkable record.”

Both of them is playingthe same kind of skills in which they uses quickness and fast punching but, when talking about the attitude both Mayweather and Pacquiao are too far apart. Mayweather has a harsh attitude which he loves to trash talk in front of his opponents while Manny Pacquiao, he is a boxer who is very humble at all times.

In his life, Manny “Pacman” Pacquaio grew up in a very poor family and when he was in grade six his parents were separated, after his mother discovered that his father was living with another woman. Because of poverty Manny decided to live by his own and run away from his mother and his 5 siblings at the age of 14.

He had suffered too much sufferings and trials in life and with in it, poverty was not the reason for Manny to give up his dreams but rather he will work hard to achieve. Right now, he is one of those who are very successful in the field of Boxing even though he lacks moral and financial supports in the past since he has no family to encourage and help him.

Manny Pacquiao is now selling millions of pay-per-view and tickets all over the world in his every fight. But, Manny is not only famous in the field boxing but also in acting and singing. He is also a fan of different celebrities and even the former president of the United State, George W. Bush. Manny Pacquiao also joins in politics and at this point he now running for a congressional position in one of the province in the Philippines.

As for his achievements, in 2000-2009 Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao was named to be the "Fighter of the Decade" by the Boxing Writers Association of America.

In every fight passes, Manny Pacquiao received much and much blessings and with the fact that he is the first and the only boxer in history to win 7 world titles in seven different weight divisions. In deed, he is the only boxer to win the lineal championship in four different weight classes.

Manny Pacquiao is known to be the former Ring Magazine featherweight and super featherweight champion. He is Also the former WBC World lightweight champion, WBC World super featherweight champion, IBF World super bantamweight champion, and the WBC World flyweight champion.

Today, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao is a Filipino Boxer and at present the WBO World welterweight champion, Ring Magazine light welterweight champion, and he was rated by The Ring Magazine as the number 1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world.

Oppositely Floyd Mayweather Jr. is an American Boxer who is a trash talk lover and who is well known to be “Money Mayweather” and “Pretty Boy Floyd”. Floyd Mayweather Jr. has inherited a pure blooded boxing fighter from his father Floyd Mayweather Sr. who was a former welterweight contender and his uncles Jeff Mayweather and Roger Mayweather, who won different championship titles. Floyd is a five-time world champion and an Olympic Bronze Medalist

With his ambition to be the best fighter who ever lived, Floyd Mayweather Jr. continues to do all what he can do to be the best. He also work hard up to his limit just like the other boxers. Right now, with his perseverance he owns an undefeated record and he is currently getting stronger and stronger and becoming an unstoppable Boxer.

His goal made a good thing for him and right now he has a record of 40 wins, 25 KO’s, 0 losses and 0 draws. He has also been named by the Ring Magazine “Fighter of the Year” in 1998 and 2007 and was rated by The Ring magazine From July 18, 2005 through June 2, 2008 as the number-one pound for pound boxer in the world. He has won six world boxing championships in five different boxing weight classes and he is the former WBC welterweight champion.

He’s attitude still prevails aside from his good record. This is why more and more people are getting annoyed with him and even his own fans. His fans does not like on what is coming out from mouth anymore, it offends allot of people and has a meaning of disrespecting them.

“Every boxer has his own style of fighting but for me in my opinion only, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is already doing it beyond his limit and lots of people are being offended which is not a sporty thing to do”.

“I hope Floyd Mayweather Jr. will control his attitude because someday this could be the root of many unacceptable problems he will be facing”

Anyway, as I continue on my quest of my excitement I thought of something which is not right for the fight according to what was being updated to me, may it be in Online, TV news, and in news papers. Different kinds of articles are being published daily with the same kind of meaning in which it senses to be a bad news.

According to the published articles both camps is having a different opinion on both sides in which the conflict rising up and it is getting more intense.

The root came from Floyd Mayweather Jr’s camp, they doubted on how calm Manny Pacquaio switched division so quickly and achieved many things so fast. They immediately believed that Manny Pacquiao is using an illegal drug enhancement to make him so strong and increase his weight faster. With that suspicion.Floyd Mayweather Jr. is challenging Manny Pacquiao that both of them will take an Olumpic-style “randon” drug test before the fight were as it is still not required by the rules of the Nevada State Athletic Commission

The Mayweather camp wants a random blood testing by the United States Anti-Doping Agency however Pacquiao refused to have any blood testing within 30 days from the fight. The reason behind is Manny Pacquiao thought it would weaken him, but on the other hand he was willing to have blood taken from him before 30 days or immediately after the fight. Manny Pacquiao’s coach Freddie Roach also has a different opinion he mentioned that he would allow blood to be taken from Pacquiao one week before the fight.

They attempt to resolve their disagreement and the two camps went through a process of negotiation before a retired judge. After the negotiation process Mayweather agreed to a 14-day no blood testing window, however, Pacquiao refused it and instead he only agreed to a 24-day no blood testing window. Lately, on January 7, 2010, Manny Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum declared that the fight was called off.

Meanwhile a pre random drug testing for the both of them had been done still away from the scheduled fight. Manny Pacquiao was taken blood sample from his hometown in General Santos City, and it was sent to Malaysia for the laboratory tests, while Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s testing was done in Las Vegas and sent to Arizona. After nine days a negative result for the both fighters came out.

With so much talks and issues had been already published, their drug test result went to be useless. Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. failed to settle their differences over random drug testing and still ended up to the cancellation of the fight.

Millions of boxing fans including me were upset after the cancellation of the most awaited fight of the year between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.

“Floyd Mayweather jr. blew it’ according for some fans.

“My most awaited fight was gone and I felt so much disappointment but after a few days I heard the news announcing that the Mega fight will still be happening. I was so glad to hear about it. My idol Manny Pacquaio will still be defending his title but with a different contender”

The story didn’t just stop with a reason of failure of negotiation between the two camps due to the different of opinions of drug test protocol but rather it led to a different fight for both camps.

Joshua Clottey is a welterweight boxer from Accra, Ghana, who now lives in the Bronx, New York. He is the former IBF Welterweight Champion. Is the one who accepted and challenged Manny Pacquaio.

Joshua Clottey is an orthodox fighter, who has a solid defense and a combination of size, stamina, boxing skills, speed, power, and chin

Clottey has top defensive skills; the way he uses his gloves and arms to protect himself from his opponent's punches is very similar to Winky Wright's defensive stance.

He has never lost via a knock out due to his defensive style.

Pacquaio and Clottey fought on March 13, 2010 at the Arlington, Dallas’ Cowboy Stadium.

Pacquiao faced the greatest challenge in his entire career as he fought the toughest fighter ever.

In the end Manny Pacquiao still retained his WBO welterweight championship in a fight that was, at times, rather dull. Clottey focused more on covering up and defending himself that he never mounted any type of offensive attack.

Joshua Clottey proved that his defense was the strongest even though how fast and quick Manny Pacquiao did.

It was a 12 round fight in which the judges scored it 120-108, 119-109 and 119-109 for Pacquiao. It was yet another decisive win for Pacquiao, who has strung together a series of decisive wins as he's risen up to the top of the boxing world over the last four years.

It made a less pay-per-view compared the previous fight because most of the fans were watching it live on the mega stadium and it was at least 700,000+ Pay-per-View were sold at the fight. 45,000 fans were estimated in front of the Dallas Mega Stadium watching Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey battle.

On the other side, Floyd Mayweather signed contract to fight against "Sugar" Shane Mosley who is ten years older than him and also an American. The Fight will be on May 1, 2010 which be held on MGM grand Las Vegas, Nevada.

Shane Mosley was set to fight against Andre Berto for the WBC and WBA Welterweight title unification on January 30, 2010 but because of what happened in Haiti, Berto’s family was affected and several of his family members died because of the earthquake and so he canceled the fight. The negotiation between Mosley and Mayweather’s camp then began and soon after it was approved the fight was given a title: “WHO R U PICKING?”

"Sugar" Shane Mosley is a boxer from Pomona, California. He has already won world titles in three weight divisions, and he is the current WBA Welterweight Super Champion. He is also a major proprietor of Golden Boy Promotions.

As for their techniques, Floyd Jr. is a fighter who is doing a hit and run fighting style and with his style, most of his opponent looses patience in which they could not do their strategy anymore and a big plus for Floyd. On the other hand Mosley is type of fighter who is using he’s crushing power to knockout he’s opponent. He’s strategy is to corner Floyd on the ring so that he could not complete use his “hit and run” style.

For now, two biggest names in boxing will about to be throwing punches in May 1st and surely the boxing will he an abundant excitement since both fighters possesses a very impressive records. Floyd Mayweather has a 40 wins 0 losses with 25 KOs record in 5 division championships while Sugar Shane Mosley has 46 wins, 5 losses and 39 KOs in 3 division championships.

In addition, an Olympic-style random drug test will be done a few days before the fight for Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Shane Mosley.
